The universal 3D-unfolding interface

Key interface between the design and manufacturing of sheet metal parts, the act/unfold software offers a comprehensive associative 3D/2D working environment to import CAD models, unfold 3D parts and export the obtained flat patterns to any CAM bending, cutting and punching software.

act/unfold enables you to import the 3D volume models of parts designed with CAD sheet-metal software in order to unfold them, while giving you the possibility of intervening beforehand on the part model and make it ready to manufacture: bend allowances according to the press brake used, choice of the face overlapping mode, notch management, modification of thicknesses or bending radii, etc. Thus act/unfold is a precious tool for sheet-metal subcontractors as it combines "craft" expertise (the 3D models provided by the prime manufacturers can seldom be manufactured without any modification) and opportunities (the software retrieves 3D models from nearly any CAD software via neutral interfaces or native formats).

act/unfold can be used as a module that complements the act/cut programming software (cutting / punching) or as an autonomous tool for 3D import, unfolding and creation of sheet-metal parts; act/unfold is also provided with the act/bend programming software for press brakes.
