act/cut V5 for Sheet Metal addresses all companies using the CATIA V5 sheet metal module and equipped with NC cutting machines whatever the technology:
cutting machines following contours (laser, plasma, oxyfuel, water jet, routing), punch-presses and combined technology machines.
act/cut controls all machine brands and optimally takes into account each technology at every step of the programming, from part preparation to NC code generation, from nesting to tool path optimization. act/cut operates automatically whenever it is possible and can even be used in full batch mode. act/cut is an open system which is easily interfaced with ERP systems and which can be customized using an integrated VB-compatible language.
act/cut V5 for Sheet Metal imports 2D geometrical files designed in CATIA V5 together with different technological features such as folding lines. In addition, act/cut V5 for Sheet Metal enables the user to unfold a 3D part in the CATIA V5 Sheet Metal Design (SM1) environment with a single mouse click and to extract the flattened-part file directly, without any user intervention or file manipulation.

- CATIA V5 sheet metal design 1 add on product (SM1) or:
- CATIA V5 SheetMetal Design Add on product (SMD).
SM1 is included in CATIA V5 Extended Mechanical Design 1 configuration.
SMD is included in CATIA V5 Extended Mechanical Design 2 configuration.
